What some people are saying about Laughter in Caregiving:
"Tim Oliphant (aka Mr. Ollie) has written a book that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. It would be a great gift for a caregiver. It's a fantastic book." Kaye C

"No one could read this book and not laugh-and get a tearful eye at the last page. Beautiful book."

Mr. Ollie Features Humorous Illustration/About Tim (Mr. Ollie) Oliphant

Hi, I'm very pleased to meet you. I'm Tim Oliphant, also known professionally as Mr. Ollie. What you are about to view on this web site is my passion, which I have been doing professionally since 1983. The fifth grade is when I found this "passion" in the only art class I ever had in school. After that I was primarily self-taught, with help from the inspiration of MAD magazine, and in later times having people like Beatrix Potter, AB Frost, Ernest Shepard, Dr. Seuss, the Disney artists, Warner Bros, Charles Schulz, and too many more to mention as my teachers. I craved whatever art exposure I could get and soaked it all up like a sponge. Like most future cartoonists/illustrators, after a two year stint in a small art school, I pounded the pavement to ad agencies, magazines, and newspapers, making some sales and a few commissions along the way. I began my career in ad agencies and self syndicating editorial cartoons to 25 newspapers throughout Tennessee. As time when on, after more time, patience, and experience, my cartoons and illustrations have appeared in such publications as The Saturday Evening Post, Woman's World, Boy's LIfe, The American Legion Magazine, Ebony, Mature Years, Highlights for Children, Cobblestone, Dig, Odyssey, Appleseeds, and many more. Starting in 1987 I began my work as a "teaching artist" traveling to schools all over the southeast states and some north of Tennessee working in schools through state and local art agencies. I'm honored to have received the Outstanding Artist in Residence Award from the Tennessee Arts Commission, and a School Bell Award from the Tennessee Education Association for my work on educational issues. I'm a long time member of the National Cartoonists Society.  I live on my twelve acre farm in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Please e-mail or give me at call at 931-359-5956 me if you have any questions or would like to discuss a project. I'd love to hear from  you and help you out.
